figuring it all out
If the path of an art career is like a long road trip, I haven’t made it out of town yet. This website is here to document everything that happens on the road. Sketchy On The Details is the result of a decade’s+ creating, selling, trying, failing, and growing. At its launch in 2019, exactly 10 years after I graduated art school, it started the journey I always hoped to be on, that of a real working fine artist.
Over the course of the 20-teens I didn’t make much art, but I lived some very full years. I moved from New Hampshire to California, got work as a graphic designer, met my future husband, studied yoga, opened my first Etsy shop KNOTOOshabby, married my husband, became a full-time Etsy seller, turned 30, moved into a house, and got 2 dogs and a cat. After all of that I sort of, kind of, stopped feeling like a kid and now confidently announce my status as an Amateur Adult.
With the launch of this site and the future second Etsy Shop I feel, maybe for the first time ever, ready to start the real career path I’ve always been working toward. Living life helps to develop our work and when I look back at the art I made before this it feels like the work of a different person…a girl trying to figure out art. Now I’m a woman making art, trying to figure out life. Join Me!
